Spatial Monitoring of Polluted Industrial Clusters

Client
Odisha State Pollution Control Board
Solutions
GPS survey | Geospatial Database development | WebGIS application development

Our partnership with the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) has resulted in a remarkable success story in the field of spatial monitoring of polluted industrial clusters. By developing and implementing a WebGIS-based information dissemination and Decision Support System (DSS), we have transfigured pollution control measures.

The system's key highlight lies in its ability to plot the locations and attributes of pollution sources in two Polluted Industrial Area (PIA) clusters, including air, surface-water, groundwater, soil, and sediment pollution. By visualizing this spatial information on carriers like nallahs and rivers and receptors such as habitations, the system provides comprehensive map-based visualisation, analysis, and reporting capabilities for decision-making.

Moreover, the DSS offers position/placement insights into mine reclamation status, effluent discharge points, comparative analysis of air and water quality, and potential impacts on agricultural lands and hazardous areas. This empowers regulating authorities with the necessary tools to plan and implement timely mitigation measures, effectively curbing environmental hazards and safeguarding the well-being of both the environment and the communities. Our innovative solution has proven instrumental in driving sustainable development and protecting the environment for the people of Odisha.
