Being pioneers of geo-informatics at a time when maps were synonymous to the atlas or at the best satellite pictures, they were definitely 'a spark in the dark'! Their foray into Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services has been spearheaded by some great teamwork and some commendable individual endeavours.

 

Subhadarshi Mishra – CEO & Managing Director

Subhadarshi Mishra Subhadarshi had always dreamt of becoming a Technology Entrepreneur, right from his college days. This passion led to Trident Softech Pvt Ltd being founded by him along with two of his friends in 1991. He was instrumental in the phenomenal growth of the company, which later diversified into specialized IT services (SPARC) and higher education (Trident Academy).

As promoter and Managing Director, Subhadarshi has expanded SPARC’s business literally from a one room establishment to a full-fledged IT services company with its own state-of-the-art facility for 300 professionals.

Subhadarshi has a knack for exemplary organisation building and has successfully negotiated, executed and delivered more than 500 IT projects through his competent team. Subhadarshi has more than 20 years of experience in resource mobilization and team management; the key elements of business expansion.

During his illustrative professional career as a technical entrepreneur, he has envisioned the potential application of geo-informatics (GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS and IT) in developmental planning and has conceptualized, guided and implemented many projects of national and international importance.

Subhadarshi earned his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology (formerly Regional Engineering College) Kurukshetra, in 1991, securing First Class First Rank and was awarded a gold Medal for his achievement.

 

 

Abhas Supakar – Chief Information Officer

Abhas Supakar Abhas has more than 20 years of experience in System Analysis, Design and Coding in Object Oriented Application Development methodology and has worked extensively on ArcObject (ArcGIS 9.x) based sharable object library routines for spatial data management and spatial analysis. He has managed various geo-informatics projects and has been responsible for the development of detailed database/ geo-database design specification using design tools, development of application design and component specifications, prototype for Geo database/ application model development of testing specifications/ acceptance criteria.

Some of the landmark projects that Abhas has handled for SPARC and won accolades are, Slum Cluster Redevelopment Plan under Rajeev Awas Yojana (RAY) for USAID (FIRE-D Project) and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), GIS based Land Acquisition Process Monitoring Support System for Arcelor Mittal India Ltd., Land Use Study, collection of satellite image, analysis and interpretation for generation of land use / land cover map within 10 km radius for TATA Power Ltd., Trombay, Mumbai.

Apart from his software skills in Application Development Tools (Visual Basic, Developer 2000,  .NET (Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010), MS Web Expression Design 4, Web Expression Blend 4, Map Suite (Web GIS Engine), JavaScript, Classic ASP, ASP.NET), RDMS (Oracle, SQL Server 2008, Watcom/ Sybase SQL Anywhere, xBase   Design/ ) and Project Management tools (MS Project , UML, Visio2007), he has degree in MBA(IT). He is also a keen badminton player.

Abhas joined Trident Softech Pvt. Ltd. in 1992 and has been working with the group in various positions as Programmer, Software Developer, Team Leader, Project Manager and has been functioning as the Chief Information Officer at SPARC since 2012.

 

Subhra Mishra – Chief Resource Manager & Senior Vice President

 

Subhra Mishra Subhra heads the Administration Department and is responsible for providing quality Human Resources, IT infrastructure and Logistics support for carrying forward the core business activities of SPARC.

Subhra is with SPARC since its inception in 1997 and has played the key roles of mentoring the human resources and supporting them with adequate infrastructure and logistics so as to enable them deliver the desired outputs.

Currently Subhra manages the entire support team of more than 20 people at SPARC involved in activities such as Human Resources, Finance, IT Infrastructure, Establishment, Travel and Logistics.

With a background in Sociology, Subhra is very good at man-management and handles them very convincingly. She also holds an Advance Diploma in Computer Application and her keen aesthetic sense is reflected in many patches in the office as well!

 


Payal Mohapatro – Senior Vice President (Quality Assurance)

Payal Mohapatro Payal is the head of Quality Assurance at SPARC and has been consulting with SPARC for the last 2 years.

Before associating with SPARC, she has worked with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for over 10 years in the areas of Quality Management, Program Management and Business Consulting. She holds an engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication and a postgraduate degree in Business Management.

As Quality Manager, she has worked for Hi-tech, Telecom, Energy and Utilities verticals in TCS Bangalore. The role involved managing quality functions for a large number of projects and leading a team of quality representatives (QRs) for ensuring high quality delivery from all project delivery groups.

Her pleasing demeanour and ever-smiling face is like a breath of fresh air during tense brain-storming sessions and hectic deadline schedules.

 

Khetrabasi Jena – Head (Geoinformatics)

 

Khetrabasi Jena Khetrabasi has 16 years of experience in GIS, Cartography and Remote Sensing with hands-on proven knowledge on ESRI GIS platform (ArcView 3.x and ArcGIS 9.x) and Trimble Office, TGO. He has an exceptionally good command over field survey concepts using Differential GPS devices. Sound knowledge in handling Indian Satellite Images, Image processing and Data Analysis combined with good leadership and team management quality, analytical ability and communication skill has helped him handle projects efficiently. He has led teams of more than 50 people and also worked in tandem with the management in project planning, cost estimation and decision making processes of projects.

Some of the assignments that he has handled successfully include Preparation of vegetation analysis/stock density for Forest Diversion Proposal maps through Remote Sensing, DGPS based survey and mapping of the degraded forest areas,
DGPS based survey of Notified Forest Block boundaries and mapping of the Mine Lease Areas in the State.

He possesses technical expertise in GIS (ArcView 3.0, ArcGIS 9.x, 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst), Image Processing (ERDAS IMAGINE) and DGPS Post Processing Tools (Trimble Office, TGO). His academic qualifications include MCA and Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing.
